Santa Baby

Our next prompt is to create a card celebrating the man who shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly ... aka Santa Claus, Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas ... or any other denizen of the North Pole such as Mrs. Claus or Santa's Elves (or even the 8 tiny reindeer).

Here's what we created:

Stephanie says, "I couldn't resist featuring my favorite Oh What Fun Santa from Avery Elle.  He just looks so darn joyous (and he's easy to color).  A few sequins for falling snow & a layout from Retro Sketches, and this Jolly card came together quickly."

Lauren says, "The closest I ever get to a "clean and simple" aesthetic is when I have to make a card in a bit of hurry; mind you, I've still got four different patterned papers on here, so "CAS" is distinctly relative in my case, but for me this is pretty pared-down, lol! I also used Retro Sketches #207 to guide my layout... but no, Stephanie and I never confer, honestly!!!"

So now it's your turn to make a card featuring Santa Baby, or any other of the North Pole's illustrious residents. Link it up right here by 6pm (EST) on Wednesday, April 6th. Keyword for galleries or Flickr is JB:16:07.

Have Yourself a Very Vintage Christmas

We're still creating Vintage this week at Jingle Belles ... either featuring vintage products, a vintage design style ... or both.

To add a little extra incentive to your endeavors, this prompt is sponsored by Lauren's Etsy shop, Just Enough Stuff, and there's a sweet little pack of vintage Christmassy things for one lucky cardmaker who links up with us this week!

Here's what we made this week.

Lauren's Second Card

Lauren says, "I always have plenty of GREAT vintage stuff, but sometimes it's the wrong size for a card, as was true of this lovely illustration; or the wrong color--as in my text from "a christmas carol"-- so I used my all-in-one printer to scale down and make everything a bit more matte and vintage-looking! I employed the current Sketch Saturday layout and finished off with some gloriously sparkly Eyelet Outlet bling!"

Stephanie says, "When I go to an estate sale, I immediately head to the back bedrooms in the house, which is usually where I find a shoe-box filled with vintage cards & envelopes (and if I'm really lucky post cards).  I love giving those vintage cards a new life for another holiday.  This gorgeous center panel was cut from one of those cards ... I added a sticker sentiment (on foam tape for dimension) and some paper before framing it all on a black card base."

Remember to link-up on the original post by 6pm (EST) on Wednesday, March 23rd for a chance to win the prize. Keyword for galleries and Flickr is JB:16:06.

Spirit of Christmas Past

This week we're celebrating the Spirit of Christmas Past ... which means creating a card with a vintage design. That could mean incorporating actual vintage elements, OR using new products that have a vintage style, OR using stamps or images that convey a vintage vibe ... whatever says vintage to you! To add a little extra incentive to your endeavors, this week we are sponsored by Lauren's Etsy shop, Just Enough Stuff, and there's a sweet little pack of vintage Christmassy things for one lucky cardmaker who links up with us this week!

Here's what we made this week:

Stephanie says, "My most plentiful vintage stash is sheet music.  I'm always on the look-out at estate sales or when friends want to purge their collections.  I just love the natural yellowing of the paper that comes with aging.  I decided to create a Clean & Simple Vintage Design keeps the focus on the music.  I added an Anna Griffin Vintage-style bow and a sticker sentiment using a Sketch from Clean & Simple on Sunday."

Lauren says, "Coincidentally... (because Stephanie and I truly never confer before making our cards. lol!) ...I went with some of my favorite vintage sheet music (from a 1930's piano lessons book) some vintage lace that may have been liberated from my mom's sewing room (though I'll deny that in public!) and a gorgeous new-but-vintage-style postcard from Glitz Design. I've used the current Sketch Saturday layout to guide my design."

Now let's talk about the prize! One lucky, randomly chosen cardmaker who links up with us this fortnight will win a Deluxe Christmas Assortment of holiday papers and ephemera, similar to this one (because with real vintage, every pack is of course *UNIQUE*!) and a $10 credit to spend on anything else you'd like from Just Enough Stuff!

(Every packet includes sheet music, illustrations, recipes, crafts and lots more uniquely cool Christmas stuff)

Link up as many freshly-made, vintage-style holiday cards as you'd like to, right here on this post, by 6pm (EST) on Wednesday, March 23rd. Keyword for galleries and Flickr is JB:16:06.

Layers of Love ♥

Well ♥JINGLE BELLES♥ you surely did rock the layers this fortnight! We had a hard time only picking three cards, and highly suggest that you scroll down and see ALL the gorgeous entries in the "All Bundled Up" readers' gallery if you haven't already. Meanwhile, here are three cards that made us feel especially warm and fuzzy:

...combined beautiful layers on a super-fun mug-shaped card base!
(Because who doesn't like cocoa?!)

...made some of her (gorgeous, purple, sparkly) layers *ROUND*!!!
(Why did we not think of that??!?)

...stacked lots of textural white layers together to create a perfectly elegant frame for that pretty snowscape!
(We'd say more but we just want to stare at this for a while longer!)

We'll be back at midnight with a good old-fashioned prompt to make your holidays even happier, hope to see you then! ♥

Layer It On Me!

We're still having a blast making holiday cards with at least three layers; won't ♥YOU♥ join the fun?! Here's what we made this week:

Lauren says, "I apparently framed and cut out this sweet vintage image for a different challenge last year. I have no idea why I didn't use it then, but I'm really glad it was in my "leftover bits" baggie because as soon as I saw it again I knew it'd be perfect with this gorgeous Prima poinsettia I only bought recently. I used this week's Sketch Saturday layout, which is absolutely ALWAYS an awesome idea, imo!"

Stephanie says, "I started with a 3-layer 3-D ornament tag and then kept layering-it-on using the sketch from The Paper Players.  I finished with some glittery snowflake stickers for a bit more sparkle."

Now it's your turn to devise a three-layer (or more!) creation and link it in the original post (directly below this one!) by 6pm (EST) on Wednesday, March 9th. Keyword for galleries and Flickr is JB:16:15.
